This little thing here is an exercise I had to do for my color theory course.  I had to create two separate images that involved different color saturation and in a high-key (lighter) and low-key (darker) variations.

It’s nothing special, really, but I had fun with making it.

It’s been a bit since I did anything art-related on the blog (if at all?) so… here’s something!

This little guy is the first of the sprites that I, and a friend from across-the-pond that wanted to help out, have done for a simple little MMORPG done in the BYOND engine, found here.  I’m not quite sure what I want to call the game just yet, or how complicated I want to make it, but for now I want to focus on the art so that everything has a general appearance before I go off and throw myself at a coding tutorial.

Also, I’ve been contemplating yet another redesign of the blog…  But I should wait until I have more under my belt than just a few sketches. Sigh.

Man, when did it get so cold? :c

Anyway. It’s roughly halfway through the last month of the year, and… well, it’s too freaking cold for anything anymore. I don’t even feel like going out on walks half the time because my face feels like it’s going to shatter like an ice crystal. I miss my summer heat and balmy days!

So, recently a friend of mine from Canada graciously bought me a pose doll. The first thing I did with it, of course, was something silly.

And now for something completely different.

Outside of that, she hasn’t been seeing much use. Most of my Copic markers are running out of ink, so I need to buy refill bottles soon. (Well, that, and work has been keeping me from finishing pretty much anything. I still have a picture that I need to finish lining for a friend.)

I’ve been doing some digital work in the meantime, but I haven’t had the drive to finish any of it, quite possibly because I collapse at home the moment I get back from work. I’ll finish SOMETHING eventually.

My work schedule (and consequently, my brain) has been a roller coaster lately, leaving me with very little time for myself.

But, as of right now, I’m going to say “screw my schedule” and start a little experiment of sorts.

I’m going to wake up at 6AM — every day, no matter what time I went to sleep the night before — and do at least 45 minutes of DDR. My heavier workout, with my pull-up bar, can’t be started until I have the proper foods for it anyway; I’m getting my cardio endurance back up to what it used to be so that I can have the stamina to finish a workout.

Okay okay okay. SO. I’ve been drawing — at least a little — every day for a while. I just need to scan some of what I’ve been doing and update… a little more regularly than I have been. I’m so sorry!

I also realized that an update of my exercise log is in order, and I will be… doing that eventually. I just need to dig up the scale and see my progress.

Hooooo boy. It’s been much too long since I’ve updated.

First things first: I’ve been drawing a lot more often! I just need to get the sketches scanned (though my 11*14 sketchbook barely fits into my scanner, heh), and I can work on some sort of gallery or something.

I’ve started up a little draft for a webcomic, which I might put up here… eventually. This website needs more content. *sighs*

I greatly apologize for the lack of stuff. Life’s been an up and down, and I haven’t had the time to draw as much. (Mostly because my tablet pen decided to be MIA for the better part of three months.)

But! Now I’ve got a nice, new, two-bedroom place!

Which means I will be turning one bedroom into a hybrid game room/office/art room, and will be drawing more often.

I’ve been working on some sprites in my free time, too. Maybe I’ll put everything up in an update once the moving settles.

Yaaaay Akismet! Now I don’t have to work nearly as much to keep stubborn fools and scammers away from my site.

On an unrelated note, I’m getting a new place soon. Yay for new homes!
